Dr. Hildiah Martin-Suggs receives highest award from the State Of Georgia

Hildiah Martin-Suggs has been educating, mentoring, advocating, and providing services for youth for over twenty years in the Early Childhood Learning Field. Hildiah Martin-Suggs obtained Certifications in the State of Wisconsin to become a Center Director, a Teacher, a School-Age Teacher, a School-Age Director, a Licensed Family Child Care Owner or a Certified Family Child Care Owner. In June 2019, Hildiah Martin-Suggs created a second chance program called the Youth Mitigation Program for youth 13 to 17 years old facing life sentences as adults. January 8, 2020, Hildiah Martin-Suggs made history for being the first Youth Mitigation Investigator to specialize in a District Attorney’s Office; mitigating SB440, and SB441 cases between prosecuting attorneys and defense attorneys for State Judges to give youth 13 to 17 years old or older facing life sentences as an adult an opportunity for a second chance. Hildiah Martin-Suggs Founded the Organization Almost Lost In The System Inc. on July 5, 2021; which derived from her experiences with the Criminal Justice System, Prison System, School System, Behavioral Health, Youth Development, and Legislation. Hildiah Martin-Suggs feels there are not enough Organizations or Advocates for young boys and young men. Therefore, Almost Lost In The System Incorporated is a gateway for young boys and young men to succeed in every aspect and begin to live productive lives.
Hildiah Martin-Suggs has been in the Criminal Justice and Civil Rights fields for almost nine years as a fearless Leader. Hildiah Martin-Suggs completed the National Investigative Training Academy for Private Investigators and became a Licensed Private Detective in May 2019. Hildiah was a Member of the Department of Juvenile Justice Rockdale RYDC Advisory Council Committee member from 2016 to 2023 and donated thousands of items for the young boys incarcerated. Hildiah Martin-Suggs assisted the Department of Juvenile Justice Regional Officials with implementing Forums, Positive Behavior Interventions Support (PBIS); and mobilizing for the youth incarcerated. Hildiah Martin-Suggs is a mentor, a Youth Advocate, a Male Advocate, a Civil Rights Leader, and a Community Advocate.
Formerly, Hildiah Martin-Suggs was Georgia’s NAACP Criminal Justice Chair for the entire State from November 2019 until June 2022. Hildiah Martin-Suggs was an active member of the Georgia NAACP State Conference Executive Committee who assisted with obtaining Justice for Ahmaud Arbery’s case and many other cases. Hildiah Martin-Suggs received an Award from the Georgia NAACP State Conference for her hard work, and dedication in the Criminal Justice Field; and for writing the NAACP Criminal Justice Agenda.
Hildiah Martin-Suggs trained, and obtained Certificates with the Prosecuting Attorneys Council Of Georgia, Gwinnett County Police Academy, Georgia Association for Professional Private Investigators; and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. June 21, 2021, Hildiah Martin-Suggs received the Joe Biden’s White House Presidential Gold Award. April 13, 2024, Hildiah received the Joe Biden’s Whitehouse Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for her commitment to strengthening our nation; and communities in Criminal Justice through her volunteer services. Currently, Hildiah Martin-Suggs is furthering her continued training with the Georgia Association for Professional Private Investigators(GAPPI) as an Associate Member of the Association. Also, Hildiah Martin-Suggs is a Member of the ForbesBLK. Recently, Hildiah became a Stakeholder at the Russell Innovation Center For Black Entrepreneurs. As of December 2024, Hildiah was nominated for the Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters(Honors Causa), by her Public Relations team- Chichimovies Inc. They also nominated her for the Outstanding Citizen’s Award from the State of Georgia, which is one of the highest awards anyone can receive from the State of Georgia. This award was presented to her by State Senator Tonya Anderson on January 8th, 2025. She was joined by family and friends in the picture below.
